As well as the contacts mentioned in the YouthFax, the Information Shop for young people in Bradford City centre is a useful first point of contact for any information you need.

The Information Shop provides free advice and information on any topic for young people aged up to 25. The staff will be able to tell you the best place to get help. there is also a separate room available for you to chat with a member of staff in private. Alternatively you can visit:

Services available include:

Computers for you to type CV's and letters of application for jobs etc. with help from staff if needed

A range of newspapers for you to look through for job vacancies, the latest list of Bradford Council job vacancies, Modern Apprenticeship & training vacancies, lists of employment agencies & work permit application forms. Contacts for job search.

One to one in depth help with jobsearch, CVS, interview preparation, application forms etc.

Free 30 minute use of the Internet for information searches

Friends Plus Service - advice on and testing for sexually transmitted infections for males aged up to 25. Free & confidential.

Mon 1.30pm - 4.00pm

Tues 2.00-3.45pm

Thurs 1.30pm - 4.15pm

Interested in voluntary work? We can put you in touch with agencies that can help and we have a member of staff from Millennium Volunteers based with us, or come to one of their drop-ins on Tues: 12.00 - 2.00pm and Thurs 5.00pm - 6.30pm.

Information on working and studying abroad.

The Lad's Room (young males health session), every Tuesday 2.30-5.00pm and Thursday 2.30-5.00pm. Free and confidential, for males by males. Information on general health, drugs, alcohol, sexual health, safe sex, relationships, bullying, feeling different. Free condoms available.

CASHPOINT (Contraception, Advice, Sexual Health) every Monday & Wednesday 3.30-5.30pm & Saturday 10.00-12.00 noon. Free and confidential. Pills and emergency contraception prescribed, free condoms, free pregnancy testing, general information and advice etc. No appointment needed!

Free Condoms available during opening hours for young people aged up to 25 - ask for the 'Friends Service.'

Homeless? We can put you in touch with agencies that can help. There is also a specialist Housing/Benefits Adviser available every Wednesday 12.30pm-2.30pm.

Feeling Fed Up? Call in for a private chat or to make an appointment to talk to a counsellor
