You can get help with the costs of prescriptions, dental treatments, or eye tests. Generally most treatments are free if you are under 16 but this changes when you are over 16 depending on your circumstances. Check the HC11 “Help with Health

HC11 and other leaflets are available to download. You should also be able to pick them up from most health centres, pharmacies and JobCentres.
Over 16? You are between 16 and 19 and in full time education, by completing a HC1 also known as the NHS Low Income Scheme form available from local Job Centre or Post office. www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk click on NHS Low Income Scheme to download or order the HC1

Need a Lot of Prescriptions? If you have to pay for your prescriptions and need regular medication it might work out cheaper for you to get a Prescription Prepayment Card (PPC). A PPC covers you for all of your own NHS prescriptions, no matter how many items you need. The current cost is:
• £28.25 for a 3-month PPC • £104.00 for a 12-month PPC
